The Fina-Arena Swimming World Cup
2010 –
Berlin
meet will be held in an eight (8) lane, 25 meter competition pool. The
competition will consist of the following individual events for both men and
women:
-
Freestyle
50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m (W only)
1500m (M only)
-
Backstroke
50m, 100m, and 200m
-
Breaststroke
50m, 100m, and 200m
-
Butterfly
50m, 100m, and 200m
-
Individual
Medley
100m, 200m, and 400m
Please
note that the 400m Medley, 800m Freestyle, and 1500m Freestyle will be
seeded and swum as timed finals. Slow heats will be swum during heat
sessions, and the fastest heat swum during finals.
The fastest heats of
800 m
Freestyle women and
1500 m
Freestyle men will be swum before the start of the TV signal. The start times
will be announced as soon as possible.
Rules
All
events included for competition shall be conducted under the rules of FINA.
Costume Protocol
Swimwear worn shall
be according to FINA bye-law BL 7.
FINA
would like to remind all officials and participants that every swimmer
participating to the FINA-ARENA Swimming World Cup 2010 Series shall only
wear a swimsuit approved by FINA as published on the FINA website. A
list of approved swimsuits valid until 31 December 2010 can be found on www.fina.org
.
Managers/Representatives
Meeting
A
Managers/Representatives meeting will be held on
October
29th, 2010, at 5:00pm (17:00hrs).
One representative of each National Federation/Club must attend this
meeting. This will be the last opportunity to make entry changes for duly
entered National Teams and Clubs.

Scratches
for the first session of heats are due by end of the managers/
representatives meeting.
-
Scratches
for the second session of heats are due one (1) hour prior to the start
of finals the first evening.
-
DNS
will be fined according to Fina Rules.
Please be aware that the total amount of your expenses (e.g. entries,
accommodation) will have to be paid at the latest after the Managers/
Representatives meeting
( till
6.oo p.m. ) at the BOC office on the pool-level.
After your "final" announcement at the
Managers/Representatives meeting
you will receive the
latest version of the entries list. Please confirm the entries! If you
have any corrections or additional entries, please inform the
organization office as soon as possible.
Heat lists will be posted at the reception of our partner-hotels
Friday night.
Accreditation
To get an accreditation all participants need to fill out the accreditation
form, attach an ID-pic (.jpg-file) and send it to BOC
not later than October
16th, 2010.
If
BOC received the documents properly the team members will get their accreditation at the BOC - Office on
the first floor.
There will be no technical equipment in the accreditation offer to
create the ID-pic!
Warming
up
Please check the time schedule for warm up periods.
Last Call Area
All swimmers are requested to assemble at the last call area two races prior
their own events. The escort there will join all swimmers of a race and will
give a signal to proceed to the starting bridge.
Presentation
Prior to the events all swimmers will be introduced by the announcer. The
swimmer should raise him-/herself from the chair, step forward to the
starting platform and greet to the audience. Please inform your swimmers
accordingly.
Victory ceremony
In
addition to the above mentioned Competition program, simple
awards ceremonies will be included at all events in the format of 4 races, 4
ceremonies.
Language
All announcements, instructions, and commands during the event will be
delivered in English.
Awards
The
three best swimmers in each individual event will receive medals and various
gifts sponsored by ARENA and others.
Claiming
Prizes
The
following procedures will apply for claiming prize money at the FINA-ARENA
Swimming World Cup 2010–
Berlin
:
Should
an athlete be entitled to prize money, he or she should visit the BOC
office on the pool-level
and complete the corresponding form.
Forms
may be picked up by team managers for athletes to complete, however no
money will be paid if documentation will not be returned before the end of
the meet.
The
athletes are fully responsible for claiming prize money and completing the
required forms. The German Swimming Federation and SMS take
no responsibility for prize money not being claimed.
Please
Note: No Cash payments will be
made.
Prize
money will be paid by bank transfer to your named bank account. Competitors
must supply complete banking details to the Organizing Committee to ensure
that prize money can be transferred to the correct bank account.

Lockers
and Facilities
Locker
rooms for men and women are located close to the pool. Separate locker rooms
for officials and referees are also available. Athletes and officials need a
1-Euro coin for lockers. Coaches are asked to advise their swimmers
accordingly. There is no towel service available. Neither SMS Sport
Marketing Service nor the German Swimming Federation will be responsible for
lost or stolen items.
Medical Assistance
Emergency Medical Technicians will be present at the venue for the duration
of the meet and on Friday, October 29th 2010. There are several hospitals nearby.
Accommodation
/ meals
The reservations for your team have been made according to the given
information.
The
meals will be served as follows:

6.00 a.m. – 10.00 a.m.
